Utility Services Technician II

NV5 is seeking a full-time Utility Services Technician II for our Alpharetta, GA office. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

• Pair count and positively identify utility owners and cable sizes.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of vacuum excavation truck.
• Be knowledgeable of the quality levels of SUE and how to differentiate between each one.
• Provide support for utility services/survey staff as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of utility designation experience
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment
• Ability to travel (up to 60% of the time)
• Microsoft Excel experience – can learn and understand new software
• Familiarity with iPad or tablet, a plus

• Outside environmental conditions, including weather (wet/humid), extreme cold or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.
• Field work with long periods of standing and walking, plus common hazards at construction and project sites.
• Ability to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to walk over rough and uneven terrain and stand for extended periods (10-12 hours on occasion).
• Ability to see, hear, speak, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
• Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight travel may be required.
• Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
