Arclin, Inc. is currently seeking a Corporate Process Engineer for our Alpharetta, GA location. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager - PP, this role is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods across chemical processing operations.
The position supports both batch and continuous manufacturing processes and places particular emphasis on unit operations involving polymer processing and solids handling. The Corporate Process Engineer works closely with site engineering, automation, maintenance, safety, and R&T functions to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, while driving consistent engineering and process safety standards across the manufacturing network.
Corporate Process EngineerJob Responsibilities
- Maintain systems necessary to ensure consistent quality of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products; provide technical support for manufacturing issues across chemical processing operations, including polymer processing and solids handling systems.
- Act as a technical liaison between R&T (Research & Technology), Technical Service, Marketing & Sales, and Manufacturing to support process improvements, new product introductions, and scale-up activities.
- Monitor and improve plant efficiency, throughput, yield, and reliability to meet supply, quality, and cost objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Site Process Engineers and plant teams on chemical unit operations, process troubleshooting, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate on engineering analyses for capital and expense projects, including preliminary and detailed design, equipment selection, vendor evaluation, project cost estimates, and life-cycle cost analysis.
- Apply principles of mass and energy balances, heat and momentum transfer, and reaction and separation fundamentals to process and equipment design, including systems involving polymer processing, extrusion, pelletizing, pastillating, and solids handling.
- Support and promote the consistent application of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis participation, and process safety documentation.
- Lead or support Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) development related to process upsets, quality deviations, equipment failures, and safety incidents.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a chemical or chemical-related manufacturing environment.
- Experience with general chemical processing operations, including both batch and continuous processes.
- Working knowledge of polymer-related unit operations and solids handling systems such as extrusion, pelletizing, pastillating, pneumatic conveying, feeders, hoppers, silos, and bulk material handling equipment.
- Experience working in or supporting PSM-regulated manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization, from plant operations to corporate leadership.
- Experience participating in or leading Root Cause Analysis and Process Hazard Analysis activities.
- Familiarity with distributed control systems (e.g., Emerson Delta
V, Honeywell Experion) or PLCs. - Experience with process modeling or simulation tools.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
