Position Summary
The MEP Procurement Engineer supports the successful delivery of mission‑critical and complex construction projects by serving as the technical and commercial liaison between MEP design teams, preconstruction, and procurement. This role focuses on translating MEP design intent into clear, comparable procurement packages; supporting bid leveling and technical evaluations; and ensuring equipment selections align with the basis of design, project schedule, and cost objectives.
This position works primarily with internal stakeholders including Design Integration, Preconstruction, Operations, and Procurement Leadership to reduce design ambiguity, streamline bid comparisons, and enable informed sourcing decisions for mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design & Technical Alignment
- Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, single‑line diagrams, and equipment schedules.
- Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, and inconsistencies impacting pricing or constructability.
- Validate equipment selections against performance requirements.
- Develop clear equipment narratives and procurement scopes.
- Bid Support & Evaluation
- Support RFP development with technical requirements and clarifications.
- Assist with bid leveling and normalization.
- Evaluate vendor submittals and technical proposals.
- Identify technical and commercial risks.
- Internal Collaboration
- Act as a technical resource for internal teams.
- Coordinate with scheduling teams on lead‑time impacts.
- Support handoff from procurement to operations.
- Participate in coordination meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 1–3 years of MEP design, preconstruction, or procurement experience.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Mission‑critical or data center experience.
- Cross‑functional collaboration mindset.
- Risk‑focused and detail‑oriented.
Location:
Buford, GA. Salary: $65,000 - $70,000.
