We design transportation systems that connect people and places across interstates, intersections, bridges, and bike paths.
Responsibilities- Assist in designing roadway projects including coordination with traffic, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental considerations.
- Contribute to the development of engineering reports, plans and specifications for major and minor projects.
- Prepare and review preliminary and final plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates; make recommendations for additions, deletions, or substitutions as needed.
- Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others; assist in resolving complex problems such as conflicting design requirements or coordination challenges.
- Apply standard office practices and procedures; learn state and firm policies and procedures (e.g., Georgia Department of Transportation systems).
- Demonstrate knowledge of engineering principles and AASHTO guidelines; proficiency with Micro Station V8i and InRoads is desirable but not required.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and maintain strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Build and maintain positive interpersonal relationships; work independently on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
- 0-2 years of roadway design experience.
- EIT certification is preferred.
