Overview
This is a full time (12-Month), benefited, FLSA exempt position in the General Education Division that reports to the Dean of Education. Working primarily at the Alpharetta Campus.
Salary
: not to exceed $61,360.00 per year.
Schedule
: 40 hours per week, on campus at the Alpharetta campus;
Monday through Friday. May occasionally work at the Lawrenceville Campus.
Doctorate or Master s degree in discipline OR Master s degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline (Job Code 10213, Category
1).
In addition to the minimum qualifications, experience in teaching college-level Psychology courses in two-year colleges or degree-granting technical colleges. Experience in course and curriculum development; flexibility with diverse student populations and learning styles; experience with a variety of teaching strategies including advanced instructional technologies. Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Ability to teach in the classroom. Proficient written and oral communication.
Demonstrated occupational competency. Computer literacy with common software programs. Some experience with online instruction is a plus.
Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Psychology courses. Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

- Delivers effective individualized programs of instruction to class members.
- Ensures adherence to technical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures.
- Correctly assesses the educational needs and class progress of students.
- Selects and obtains appropriate educational materials for courses.
- Prepares reports on the current status of students in the program indicating whether performance is aligned with performance indicators, program goals and progress schedule.
- Serves as mentor for adjunct faculty within program area.
- Ensures consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and other appropriate materials.

- Prepares appropriate curricula to achieve objectives and goals of students.
- Participates in curriculum development and related committee activities as required.
- Prepares program reports for submission to supervisor within specified time frames.
- Evaluates students progress in attaining goals and objectives. (Performed by all incumbents)
- Establishes criteria and tests to measure student progress and communicates results to students and staff.
- Maintains documentation and records in accordance with guidelines.
- Maintains an organized supply of classroom instructional materials and equipment.
- Attends required training and education meetings; ensures certification complies with policies and accreditation standards.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences and by reading professional literature.
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area; enforces safety rules for operating equipment.
- Demonstrates professional work ethics and commitment to ongoing professional development.
