Position: Adjunct Faculty - Psychology (ANF)

Overview

This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA-exempt position in the General Education Division that reports to the Program Director of Psychology at Alpharetta Campus.

Salary
:
The targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours taught.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Code 10317:
Doctorate OR Master’s degree in discipline OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications, postsecondary teaching experience.

Job Description Summary

Prepares and delivers lecture material for in-person classes. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintains consistent communication with students. Administers Learning Management System (Blackboard Ultra) and any third-party software platforms as required. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Demonstrates a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
  • Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of the college.

Percentage of Time

  • 25%:
    Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • 25%:
    Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • 10%:
    Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • 25%:
    Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
  • 5%:
    Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
  • 0%:
    Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.

Physical Demands

  • Requires operation, access, or control of financial resources.
  • Requires having a P-Card.
  • Driving is a responsibility of this position.
  • Direct interaction or care of children under the age of 18 or direct patient care (may apply).
  • Security access (e.g., public safety, IT security, personnel records, patient records, or access to chemicals and medications).
  • Prolonged standing or sitting; ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move to a different worksite.
  • Ability to move objects up to 15 pounds; repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Ability to move objects up to 50 pounds (medium work) or up to 100 pounds (heavy work) with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
