Job Summary:
A Tax Manager works closely with partners, staff and clients. They are responsible for planning, managing, reviewing, and completing client engagements. Tax Managers provide proactive tax savings and profitability suggestions for our clients and work to attract new clients, cultivate client relationships, and serve as a key contact for designated clients.
Our professionals aim to minimize tax liability while staying compliant with evolving tax laws. In addition to providing consulting and compliance tax services, we offer services such as stock option planning and international tax advice, and provide expert consultation on tax implications for investments, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and liquidations.
Responsibilities- Manage and review complex federal, state, and international tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Understand client business needs, identify and analyze tax issues, and clearly articulate relevant tax issues, authority, and conclusions.
- Lead tax engagements from start to finish, including planning, budgeting and monitoring fees, execution, and delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by providing exceptional service and understanding client business needs.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of client tax returns, meeting all regulatory deadlines.
- Review work performed by team members, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail, including interpreting complex tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Apply strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license.
- 5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
- Expertise in individual, corporate, and pass-through taxation.
- Proven ability to oversee complex client engagements and deliver high-quality client service.
- Ability to develop tax planning strategies for clients.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supervising, training, developing, and reviewing the work of staff and senior associates.
