Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to lead onsite installers and field employees for assigned projects. The role involves overseeing projects from planning to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and managing contractors. The superintendent will manage multiple carpenters across various job sites and occasionally engage directly in hands-on work. Adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards is crucial to ensure the safety and security of the construction site.

This position can be based in Alpena, Roger City, or West Branch Area.

Responsibilities

* Lead onsite teams of installers and field employees.

* Oversee projects from planning to completion, including budgeting and scheduling.

* Manage multiple carpenters across various job sites.

* Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

* Occasionally engage in hands-on construction tasks.

Essential Skills

* 5+ years of experience running commercial construction jobs as a superintendent, specifically with steel stud framing.

* 3+ years of experience reading blueprints and construction documents.

* 3+ years of experience managing contractors or field staff.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Proficiency in blueprint interpretation, carpentry, framing, flooring, drywall, and ceiling installation.

* Experience in construction supervision, particularly in ground-up, retail, and mixed-use projects.

* Possession of OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment

The position can be based in Alpena, Roger City, or West Branch Area, specializing in commercial building projects such as hospitals, hotels, schools, restaurants, and large buildings. The role demands working 40-50 hours per week with year-round work security and no layoffs. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alpena, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.45 - $35.00/hr.
