The RoleThis position is ideal for someone with a strong technical or analytical background who is looking to transition and grow their career in Project Management. Previous experience in an analytical or R&D role will help you understand complex processes and communicate effectively with technical teams, making this an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in a new direction.
As Project Manager I, you will manage the planning, execution, and delivery of customer and non-customer projects at Alnwick—ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. You’ll be the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, driving communication, governance, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle, while supporting portfolio visibility, commercial performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities Project Planning & Delivery- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource schedules.
- Coordinate internal kick-off meetings and external client meetings.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients across the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely updates and manage expectations on deliverables and timelines.
- Address client queries and escalate issues when needed.
- Maintain risk registers and issue logs for assigned projects.
- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and contractual obligations.
- Support change order management and documentation.
- Monitor project budgets and track actual vs. planned hours.
- Identify scope changes and initiate change orders.
- Contribute to profitability analysis and cost control.
- Update PSA systems and dashboards with accurate project status.
- Prepare progress reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Support lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience in a technical or analytical role (e.g., R&D, drug product development, laboratory operations) is highly advantageous for understanding project requirements and stakeholder needs.
- Experience in project management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or scientific services.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., PSA systems, Gantt charts).
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of cost control principles.
