Position: Diesel Mechanic - Alma, MI.

    9:00AM – 5:30PM
What You’ll Do:
  • Effectively use the RTA software system to access work orders, track time, enter appropriate line items for parts and additional work as needed and document detailed notes regarding repairs and all items identified
  • Complete service calls, taking repair truck to breakdown location for repair and/or clean-up
  • Schedule and complete all required preventive maintenance tasks with a goal of thoroughly evaluating the current status of the piece of equipment and identifying opportunities for overall equipment health and maintenance
  • Fabricate and weld as needed to complete repairs
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting thorough inspections and diagnostic tests; identify and replace any worn and damaged parts and take appropriate actions for a thorough and long-lasting repair
  • Keep current with Department of Transportation regulations regarding daily inspections and safety standards
  • Examine safety devices on equipment and adjust, repair or replace as needed, reporting all non-functioning systems to supervisor immediately
  • Contribute to a positive and proactive work environment
What We’re Looking For:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • CDL B with air brakes or ability to obtain, required
  • Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) must obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Strong diagnostic skills and hands-on experience
  • Team player who values safety and takes pride in quality work
  • Strong working knowledge complex heavy truck diagnostics and repairs, including engines, aftertreatment, transmission, electrical, steering and suspension
  • ASE Medium/Heavy Certifications a plus
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position and pass a physical and drug screen (pre-hire and random), including marijuana
