Position: Housing Service Policy and Innovation Coordinator

Job Description

As a core member of the Housing Business Management Team, working in a rapidly changing environment, the coordinator must be flexible in undertaking a range of functions.

Please note – TEMPORARY POST FOR 18 MONTHS.

The post holder will work with colleagues towards achieving Council plans, values and improving services and also understand the importance of working with partner agencies to achieve great outcomes. Working with the various staff within their team, the post holder will ensure a number of priorities are met within the specific areas of business within the remit.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on the formulation and periodic review of Housing policies to ensure they effectively deliver strategic objectives and meet best practice as well as legislative and regulatory requirements of the landlord function.
  • Encourage community and tenant participation in all aspects of the Housing Service. Develop quality communication methods for tenant consultation and involvement, ensuring that the review and implementation of the participation strategy is met.
  • Act as an internal consultant within the Housing Service, conducting audits and reality checks, identifying areas for service improvement, making appropriate recommendations and project managing delegated planned improvements.
  • Ensure that in conjunction with the Team Leader deadlines are met to ensure that regulatory information is provided to both internal stakeholders and external agencies such as the Scottish Housing Regulator and Scottish Government.
  • Contribute to the strategy and operational planning activities within the Housing Service.
  • Have delegated authority to deputise for the Team Leaders in Housing Operations, including making decisions on their behalf if they are unavailable.
Work arrangements

Clackmannanshire Council operates a flexible hybrid approach for roles that allow this type of working. Attendance at the office will be required to meet the needs of the business and to build team and stakeholder relationships. The exact pattern of working will be agreed with you as part of the recruitment process.

You will be required to undergo a disclosure check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council. The cost of this check will be detailed in your conditional offer of employment if you are successful.
