Position: Stepdown Nurse (RN) - Alliance, OH
This opportunity involves providing specialized care in a progressive care/stepdown unit focused on cardiac, surgical, and respiratory patients. The position requires a skilled registered nurse capable of managing complex patient conditions including multi-system organ failure, post-operative care, and medication administration under established protocols. You will play a critical role in patient assessment, care planning, and interdisciplinary coordination to support patient recovery and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer and titrate medications safely, including Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone drips
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and communicate with patients' families
  • Monitor patients with cardiac devices and manage post-op drains and wound vacs
  • Function as charge nurse on day or night shifts as assigned
  • Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
  • Navigate electronic health record systems for documentation and patient management
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license with compact state eligibility
  • Minimum one year of RN experience; acute care background preferred
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification;
    Dysrhythmia exam mandatory
  • Experience with progressive care or critical care units highly desirable
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to manage high-acuity patients
Schedule:
  • Ratios of 1:4-5 days and 1:5-6 nights, with rotating charge responsibilities
  • Team nursing environment with RN and LPN collaboration
