Job Title: Controller / Senior Accounting Leader (Manufacturing)
Location: Fully Onsite – Alliance, Ohio
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $100k to $120k with bonus (Depending on Experience)
Our client is seeking a hands-on, strategic accounting leader to oversee financial operations for multiple manufacturing entities. This fully onsite role will partner closely with Operations and Executive Leadership to drive financial accuracy, cost control, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & OversightLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including the Operational Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, and AP/AR Coordinators
Provide strategic oversight of daily accounting operations in compliance with GAAP and company policies
Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for multiple entities
Review and approve consolidated financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
Partner with Operations, HR, and Executive Leadership to deliver financial insights supporting staffing, productivity, and cost-control initiatives
Build bench strength and succession depth within the accounting function
Oversee standard cost development and maintenance across manufacturing operations
Ensure integrity of bills of materials (BOMs), routings, labor standards, and overhead absorption rates
Review manufacturing variances, scrap reporting, and efficiency metrics to support continuous improvement
Ensure accurate inventory valuation, reconciliations, and cycle count processes
Support pricing strategy, margin analysis, and customer profitability reviews
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting aligned with operational goals and EBITDA targets
Develop and maintain cost models, dashboards, and financial KPIs for plant leadership
Monitor labor, overhead, and conversion costs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Ensure alignment between financial projections and shop-floor performance
Establish and maintain strong internal controls across accounting and operational accounting functions
Ensure proper segregation of duties and approval workflows
Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance and filings
Support internal and external audits and ensure documentation integrity
Drive ERP optimization and financial process standardization across the organization
Manufacturing experience is required, including strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on ERP experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV is required
Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
Experience supporting audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting
