ReportingReports to:
Sales Director. Exempt Position.
Develops, directs and implements strategies for profitable sales growth of assigned national accounts. Ensures key account relationships are protected. Utilizes market analyses, sales forecasts, and other reports to establish sales goals and objectives in collaboration with other sales managers and the Management Team. Drives growth using channel strategies, pricing, promotional planning, new product launch execution, and exemplary customer partnerships.
Major Responsibilities- Develops strategic and tactical business plans into annual channel and gross‑profit plans.
- Primary contact to assigned accounts, organizing and tracking internal resources to deliver on commitments.
- Provides timely and accurate forecasts, KPI analysis, trends, and reports to advise leadership.
- Collaborates with sales, marketing, and product development to build compelling product presentations.
- Drives thought leadership and perspective for innovation, negotiation and business acumen.
- Represents the company at conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Develops relationships with independent sales reps and monitors their programs.
- Champions implementation of new or changing methods for the sales team.
- Executes sales programs, discounts, rebates, terms, and accounting of allowances.
- Manages SKU level detail, planogram changes, discontinued items, new product placement, and launches.
Titles of positions supervised:
Sales Specialist.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field plus 10+ years of sales experience in Consumer Durables; pet industry hardgoods preferred. In lieu of degree, 15 years of sales in increasing responsibility.
- MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) and eMAP experience required.
- Demonstrated track record in sales, increased responsibility from inside to outside, regional, national, or key account sales.
