Join Our Healthcare Team as an Experienced Optometrist - Make a Difference in a New Clinic Environment!

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to play a pivotal role in establishing and delivering exceptional eye care at a newly opened healthcare facility. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing clinic within an FQHC setting, where your expertise will directly impact patient lives and community health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive optometric examinations and vision care services to diverse patient populations.
  • Manage general case inquiries, utilizing your clinical knowledge to diagnose and treat ocular conditions.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations during EMR training and shadow phases.
  • Assist in establishing patient volume benchmarks and contributing to the development of the clinic’s reputation.
Required Skills:
  • Valid state optometry licensure and board certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as an Optometrist.
  • Strong communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and embrace teamwork.
  • Highly recommended: candidates comfortable with driving, to facilitate local travel between clinics.
Nice-to-Have

Skills:
  • Fluency in Spanish to better serve diverse patient demographics.
  • Previous experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar outpatient environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience, ideally in community health settings.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to commit to a 8-hour shift scheduled from 09:00 to 17:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays, with potential for additional hours at another location.
  • Candidates must be local or willing to self-fund travel; client will not provide travel reimbursement.
  • Credentialing process estimated to take 60-90 days.
