Position Summary:

The Controls Engineer II provides Subject Matter Expertise to manufacturing sites in the areas of automation, Manufacturing Execution Systems, batch control software, SCADA, and other Operational Technology areas.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties

• Support manufacturing plants in all aspects of Operational Technology - most importantly in MES, batch, SCADA, and control systems
• Lead and coordinate OT activities during projects, upgrades, maintenance and other initiatives
• Maintain Operational Technology systems in validated states throughout their respective life cycles

* Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair or improve products, components or assemblies.
* Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.
* Designs and drafts blueprints with designer, visits systems in the field and manages projects.
* Must be SME in field at higher levels of job.
* Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

• Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts. Determines best course of action.
• Work under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training , assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Referring only complex problems and issues
• Judgement is required in resolving all day-to-day problems.
• Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Frequent contact with external contractors/vendors.
• Extensive experience in PLC and distributed systems control - specifically Rockwell Automation Factory Talk Studio and Plant
  
  PAX and Siemens S7 and PCS 7 platforms
• Extensive experience in multiple Manufacturing Execution Systems - specifically Rockwell Automation Factory Talk Pharma Suite and Korber PAS-X
• Extensive experience in batch control software - specifically Rockwell Automation Factory Talk Batch and Siemens SIMATIC Batch
• Extensive experience in HMI and SCADA software such as WinCC, Wonderware and Ignition
