The purpose of this position is to facilitate the provision of golf services to the citizens of Allen and the golfing community. This includes providing customer service at the golf course, such as gathering practice balls and stocking the ball machine, and may include cleaning and preparation of golf carts, tournament assistance, golf bag assistance, and various ground maintenance tasks. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

• Provide customer service by greeting golf course patrons, supplying facility information, distributing golf carts as directed, handling golf bags, and answering questions and concerns.
• Wash, wax and stage golf carts, and ensure cart batteries are charged.
• Maintain the driving range by gathering practice balls, returning them to the range attendant office or golf shop, and stocking the ball machine.
• Maintain the cart preparation facility by reporting problems to the appropriate staff for repair.

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Less than a High School diploma or equivalent with no prior relevant work experience.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age

• Knowledge Of:
  Basic golf course operations and etiquette; customer service principles and practices; safe operation of golf carts and maintenance equipment;
  City of Allen’s PRIDE values and service standards; workplace safety and cleanliness standards
• Skilled In:
  Providing friendly and professional customer service; operating, cleaning, and staging golf carts; collecting, transporting, and restocking driving range balls; assisting patrons with golf bags and facility information; performing light maintenance and reporting facility issues; communicating effectively with staff, patrons, and supervisors

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain and uphill/downhill.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weight frequently.
• Ability to operate city or personal vehicle for business purposes.
