You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you can create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app).

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. Active engagement by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) is expected. If you do not respond to attempts to contact you, employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated.

You will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime app is used to pick up shifts.

Guest Advocates focus on guest experience by welcoming, thanking, and exceeding expectations through guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, and store cleanliness. They support both in-store and digital services and are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption and guest loyalty. They enable quick and easy shopping at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up, and drive-up while ensuring high quality.

• Demonstrate a service culture by delivering the service standard and creating a welcoming guest experience
• Greet guests and assist with their daily tasks and needs
• Engage with guests to resolve needs and problems
• Know products, tools, and store services to resolve issues and improve guest experience
• Be familiar with and promote Target Loyalty programs; assist with enrollment as needed
• Understand and explain Target Wallet and Target App features
• Assist with returns, follow register prompts, and escalate to leadership as needed
• De-escalate situations with leadership support while following Target policies
• Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and stock supplies during store hours
• Adhere to safety policies and report hazards
• Support guest services such as OPU, Drive-Up, and related duties with compliance to store policies
• Support cash office processes as needed
• Other duties as needed by business requirements

Additional traits that help include:

• Strong cash handling and basic math skills
• Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to 10 pounds; up to 44 pounds occasionally with assistance)
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to respond to shift requests and stay engaged; must work at least one shift every 5 months or administrative termination may occur
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures and environments (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.)
• Mobility to be on the move for scheduled shifts
