Description
This posting provides information about the position at the City of Allen, including the purpose of the role and the expectations for delivering customer service in a golf course and/or Allen Event Center setting. - Provide customer service by greeting patrons, offering facility information, and preparing, assembling, and selling food and beverage products.
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in public food and beverage areas; ensure food preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized.
- Process transactions using a Point-of-Sale system and credit card machine, recording sales and taking payments.
- Maintain and organize inventory; replace stock as needed at on-site facilities and beverage carts; complete and maintain appropriate paperwork.
- Set up beverage areas before shifts and close after shifts, including stocking items and maintaining supplies.
- Ensure cooking areas are set up and closed according to Health Department regulations; store items at proper temperatures and sanitize utensils and surfaces.
- Open/close facilities, manage cash levels, deposit daily sales, and prepare relevant paperwork including deposits, tip reports, and inventory for the next day.
- Assist with training and daily task assignment for Food & Beverage staff and third-party employees.
- Manage monthly Bridge Group schedule and contact list.
- Compile a bi-monthly tip consolidation report for payroll review.
- Assist with monthly inventory and Prime Cost reporting; support catering events with setup, service, and post-event cleanup as directed.
- Assist with ordering inventory and verifying deliveries; process invoices for entry in accounting systems as required.
- Support City of Allen events and department activities as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent plus one (1) or more years of relevant experience.
- Valid Class C Driver's License
- Must be at least eighteen years old
- TABC Certification within 30 days of employment
- Must obtain Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment
- Food and beverage preparation standards, sanitation and safety regulations
- Health Department guidelines for food handling, storage, and preparation
- Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures
- Inventory control and record-keeping for food and beverage operations
- Customer service principles and professional patron engagement
- Basic event setup requirements, including furniture arrangement, AV systems, and catering protocols
- Providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Preparing and serving food and beverages accurately and efficiently
- Operating POS systems, processing transactions, and reconciling payments
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in relevant areas
- Inventory organization and management, including restocking and deliveries
- Effective verbal and written communication with patrons and team members
- Coordinating tasks and assisting with training for other employees
- Stand, walk, and move around food and beverage areas for extended periods
- Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally; 10 lbs frequently; negligible amounts constantly
- Frequent bending, reaching, and carrying items such as food trays and inventory
- Work in environments with varying temperatures (grills, coolers, outdoor areas)
- Interact with patrons in a busy environment with frequent interruptions
