Job Summary and Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with a focus on critically ill patients with Congenital Heart Disease and/or surgery.
• Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain individualized, family‑centered, holistic plans of care.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement projects.
• Deliver high‑quality age‑specific care to newborns, infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
• Support the mission, vision and values of the organization.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or a compatible compact license.
• CCRN preferred.
• Congenital Heart experience and/or high‑acuity PICU experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year PICU or CHSU RN experience.
