Oversee food safety systems including HACCP, GMPs, and compliance with FDA/USDA requirements.

Develop and maintain HACCP plans: hazard analyses, CCPs, limits, and corrective actions.

Verify temperature controls, inspect raw materials, and approve finished goods release.

Investigate non-conformances, analyze quality data, and drive corrective actions.

Maintain documentation for audits, batch records, product tracking, and certificates of analysis.

Support recalls, regulatory filings, and quality documentation as needed.

Train QA and production staff on food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.

Develop training materials and communicate program updates across teams.

Work with operations, production, packaging, and shipping to uphold quality standards.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and corrective action follow-up.

Support quality evaluations for new products and maintain certification standards.

Ensure sanitation procedures are followed and assist in facility cleanliness assessments.

Provide hands-on support in production, packaging, or shipping as needed.

Visit client sites to conduct assessments, troubleshoot issues, and deliver training.

  • This position may include additional duties that align with the overall scope of the role and contribute to the continued success of the department. These tasks are designed to support evolving business needs and provide opportunities for skill development and professional growth.

Wage
: $50,000-$70,000, depending on experience.

Required Experience

2+ years in food manufacturing, food safety, or quality assurance.

Experience with HACCP development, audits (SQF, FDA, USDA), and corrective actions.

Familiarity with quality/production systems (SAP, Redzone, Macola, WMS).

Preferred Qualifications

HACCP and/or SQF certification (or willingness to earn within 90 days of hire).

Knowledge of GMPs and freezing/thawing requirements.

Experience working directly with USDA inspectors or regulatory officials.

Strong knowledge of sanitation procedures and audit readiness practices.
