Pharmacy Technician I – Full Time, Third Shift

Work location: Texas Health Allen, 1105 Central Expy N, Allen, TX 75013

Work hours: Full Time, 32 hours a week: 7 on 7 off. Third shift:
Thursday, Friday 8:30pm – 7:00am;
Saturday 6:30pm – 7:00am;
Sunday – Wednesday 10:00pm – 7:00am.

• Fast paced department
• Shifts include Pyxis fills and IV compounding as needed
• Shifts only have one pharmacist and one technician, so the ideal candidate can work independently
• Excellent critical thinking skills required
• Excellent communication skills desirable

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• No experience required.
• 1 year of hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician strongly preferred.
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician upon hire is required.
• Other IV certification upon hire preferred.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English, computer skills, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery, and storage of medications, including use of technology as applicable.
• Ensuring accuracy of own work and maintaining required competencies and documentation, supporting departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards.
• Continual professional development and growth, managing own time and leading by example.
• Effective communication, building positive working relationships, training new employees on routine tasks.
• Shared responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering new process efficiencies.
