Position Purpose and Objectives
The Home Equity Processor-Bilingual plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional member experience through the precise and timely processing of Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) loans. The processor verifies borrower income to support underwriting decisions, orders necessary services, and manages documents to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements. Working closely with third‑party providers, the processor ensures that all necessary documentation is received quickly and reliably, reviews incoming documents for completeness and compliance, maintains accurate loan system information, and validates HMDA data for federal reporting.
The processor may also assist broader loan processing functions to accelerate turnaround times while upholding quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver exceptional service to internal, external members, and third‑party vendors in both English and Spanish.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of HELOC loans.
- Review and process support documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage loan files, ensuring timely receipt of all required documents and disclosures.
- Initiate and follow up on third‑party services such as title orders, appraisals, flooding certifications, and payoff requests.
- Perform final reviews of loan files prior to closing to ensure accuracy and readiness.
- Enter and maintain accurate loan activity records in loan systems and spreadsheets.
- Provide expert guidance and answers to HELOC related inquiries from members and staff.
- Assist in loan processing and funding as necessary to meet departmental goals.
- Strong proficiency in time management, multitasking, and high‑volume loan processing.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering error‑free work.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Active MLO registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (SAFE Act).
