ASSIGNMENT DETAILS-100% Adult Psychiatry Locums with a permanent position available

SCHEDULE is 7:00am-7:00pm, 12-hour day shifts and will take call every other night. 7 days on, 7 days off for the inpatient unit (But I will let them know you are offering one 7-day block a month).Also have a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and consult service that is 8A-5P Monday-Friday, weekends off and no call. Each provider rotates through each service throughout the year.
75% inpatient & 25% outpatient

REQUIREMENTS:
Psychiatrist must be comfortable with complex medical cases.

-13 patients per day, acute psychiatric unit with 1-2 admissions

The inpatient unit is 25 beds split between 2 providers.

Inpatient:
Locked unit, with 20 beds on the east wing (non-violent/agitated patients) and 5 beds plus 2 seclusion rooms on the west wing for more unstable patients. Security is in the hospital 24 hours/7 days per week. Security response to all behavioral codes

SUPPORT STAFF
-Full RN staff trained in behavioral health, behavioral health techs, LPNs. 2-3 LCSWs, one assigned to each team. Help with coordinating with outpatient providers, gathering collateral, follow up appointments and placement eo interpretor services for most every language, in-person interpretor available for more commonly needed languages.

- Day treatment center-Not required
- Office/clinic

Familiarity with:

- Involuntary Commitments, Seclusion Therapy-Preferred/not required
- Restraint application

Clinical Areas:

-Required
- Anxiety, Affective, Personality, Psychotic disorders-Preferred- ADD/ADHD, Organic disorders-Preferred/not required
- Eating, Developmental disorders

Treatment Techniques:

-Required
- Pharmacotherapy-Not required
- Group nor Family Therapy, ECT patients would only need to be evaluated if the patient was detained and on a single bed certification, awaiting placement. The patient would need to be seen within 24 hours of being detained and Q24 hours thereafter. Phone consultation with BC child psychiatrist is available. This is a very rare occurrence.
