Description
Verland is hiring Exceptional People to provide Compassionate Care as a Residential Manager for our Residential locations – CLA division.
Location: Aliquippa, PA 15001 and Moon Twp, PA 15108.
Shift: 24/7 on‑call, salaried, exempt.
A Residential Manager is primarily responsible for training, scheduling, assigning, and monitoring direct care workers based on the needs of the residents, and maintaining high care and compliance standards within their assigned home(s).
Responsibilities- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the home to ensure daily programs and activities are carried out and documented across all shifts.
- Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the house; reinforce hierarchy of care and agency expectations.
- Supervise staff and ensure implementation of individual programs.
- Monitor goal and procedural objectives implemented by direct care staff and report findings to the Program Specialist / Program Specialist Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate reporting of incidents and thorough documentation.
- Initiate and/or implement employee disciplinary procedures.
- Resolve disputes fairly and timely following established Policies and Procedures.
- Interact within the community to meet individual and group needs (activities, transportation, medical visits, tours).
- Act as a role model for appropriate employee dress and conduct per Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain safety of residents by recognizing conditions that present safety or programmatic concerns.
- Work as a Direct Support Professional as necessary to meet staffing requirements.
- Report all unusual problems to the Program Specialist and/or Health Services Coordinator as appropriate.
- Train and supervise newly hired direct care staff in the house and participate in their training and evaluation.
- Ensure food menus and doctor‑prescribed diets are followed, and perform any required shopping.
- Conduct monthly fire drills and fire safety trainings as required by regulations.
- Understand and comply with Verland’s Mission, Policies and Procedures, HIPAA, and educate staff on compliance.
- Perform other related duties as required including but not limited to participating in inter‑departmental committees, inter‑disciplinary team, monitoring adaptive equipment, recommending goals and activities to the Program Specialist, completing inter‑departmental paperwork, completing Medication Administration Practicums, monitoring and accurately reporting staff schedules, house budgets, expenses, and payroll, attending in‑service training sessions and meetings.

- Must be able/willing to be on‑call 24/7.
- High school diploma or GED certificate required. A Bachelor’s degree in Education is preferred, with experience in the field of Human Services.
- Must possess a working knowledge of residential practices and an understanding of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with our individuals and staff.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and have all state required clearances.
- Capable of carrying out planned social, recreational, work, and study activities for a limited number of individuals.
- Skilled in coping with day‑to‑day problems and recording and reporting observations of progress.
- Able to maintain an empathetic attitude toward the individuals served.
- Comprehension of, or capability of, learning the fundamental principles and practices of physical and mental health, including appropriate medical terminology.
