Position: Paramedic (EMT-P)

Paramedic (EMT-P)

Allegiance Mobile Health of Alice, TX is hiring Paramedics (EMT P) to provide advanced life support care in emergency and non‑emergency settings. Paramedics will lead patient assessment, perform advanced interventions, administer medications, interpret EKGs, and ensure safe transport to healthcare facilities. The role requires clinical expertise, leadership, and the ability to remain composed in high‑stress environments.

Pay

Base salary ranges between $40,000 and $63,000 per year for full‑time hourly employment, based on DSHS certification level, years of experience, and schedule rotation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls 24 hours per day, driving various emergency vehicles in all road conditions.
  • Read map books and follow written and verbal directions to respond efficiently and safely.
  • Follow all departmental, local, and state driving laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Use communication equipment to convey information to dispatchers, EMS crews, first responders, and other organizations.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in a state of readiness and cleanliness.
  • Complete daily vehicle and supply checklists and assist with vehicle resupply, decontamination, and readiness tasks.
  • Immediately report any discrepancies with vehicles, supplies, or equipment.
  • Provide direct patient care per Medical Director’s authorization and protocols.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency in all patient care situations.
  • Show physical competency to lift, carry, transport, and extricate patients as needed.
  • Interact with external agencies such as Police, Fire, and First Responder organizations.
  • Provide satisfactory customer service and project professionalism in all contacts.
  • Accurately complete patient care reports, billing information, and other documentation timely.
  • Work under physically and psychologically taxing conditions, including inclement weather, hazardous environments, loud noises, and high‑stress situations.
  • Be prepared for exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, dangerous chemicals, sharp objects, and fall/trip hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including housekeeping chores and special projects.
  • Pass departmental skills evaluation and complete the NEOP process before staffing a truck.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, carry, balance, and push up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
  • Demonstrate flexibility and coordination: bend from the waist, touch toes, squat with legs parallel to the ground, kneel with both knees firmly on the ground.
  • Engage in repetitive lifting, squatting, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Climb 20 sets of stairs without rest within 60 seconds.
  • Perform fine manual dexterity tasks such as starting IVs and intubating.
  • Have correctable vision adequate to read street signs, see in low light, and read small print.
Psychological Requirements
  • Use good judgment and remain calm in high‑stress situations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the face of adversity.
  • Have strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Function under extreme fatigue due to little or no rest, extreme temperatures, and inclement weather.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Certified paramedic in the State of Texas.
  • CPR certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • 911 Pre‑Hospital Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Read, write, and interpret instructions in English.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and insurability.
