SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Director of Special Services will supervise and coordinate all of secondary District student services programming as it relates to special education programming. This candidate will monitor District compliance of Federal and State Rules and Regulations. The Director collaborates regularly with the Curriculum Department in the area of curriculum, instruction and assessment. Other duties may be assigned as needs arise.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in special education or related field. Appropriate valid Illinois PEL with GADM and Director of Special Services endorsements required. Minimum of two years administrative duties within special education with building level or district level administration preferred. The ideal candidate should have experience in a 1:1 environment, a visionary mind, experience facilitating Data, be highly collaborative, have effective written and verbal communications and have the ability to handle challenging conversations.
