About the Position
Position assists with developing and implementing a comprehensive physical fitness program including conducting exercise and recreation classes, aquatics classes and overseeing the fitness center. May be called upon to monitor individual exercise programs and perform physical assessments.
This position pays $28-$32/hr
Job Duties
- Assists in monitoring daily operations and maintenance of fitness and aquatic centers.
- Assists with coordination, promotion and implementation of Wellness programs.
- Instructs group exercise classes, both land and aquatic.
- Oversees the fitness center to ensure equipment is clean, safe, functioning properly and participants are using equipment correctly.
- Evaluates, corrects and instructs participants on proper exercise techniques.
- Performs individual physical assessments of residents to develop and implement an exercise program according to abilities and needs.
- Monitors individual exercise programs of residents for progress and makes modifications as needed; ensures physician permission forms are up-to-date and on file.
- Schedules appointments and performs other administrative duties as needed.
- Develops networks within the community and makes appropriate referrals to other professional services.
- Communicates with the Clinic and Therapy Departments regarding residents.
- Builds relationships with residents and staff, encouraging them to be more physically active.
Job Qualifications
- Experience required with providing guidance/supervision to senior population.
- Professional certifications such as CTRS, ACSM, ACE preferred. WSI certification a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must have computer skills in basic word processing.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must have current CPR/AED/FA certification.
