PLEASE NOTE:
While the current vacancy is with Public Works, the eligibility list that will be established based on this recruitment cycle will be used for this job classification for a minimum of six months or when the list is exhausted per Merit Rule 6.4a. Our Public Works department is growing and seeking qualified candidates for the position of Building Maintenance Worker.
This position will work in and around City of Springfield properties and buildings to maintain and repair building premises. The right candidate must possess at least one year of experience and/or education in performing custodial duties and/or minor maintenance and repair work.

Experience, Education, and Training- One year of experience and/or education in performing custodial duties and/or minor maintenance and repair work.
- A valid driver s license is required.
- For assignment to the Airport, must obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver s License with airbrakes within the probationary period.
- For assignment to Public Works
, must obtain National Fire Protection (NFPA) 10 certification within the probationary period.
