Overview
Lighting Maintenance Inc. ("LMI") is seeking a Service Electrician for work in and around NOVA. Work will consist of maintenance, repairs, and installation of electrical & lighting systems. Must be licensed in Virginia. Our work is in two general settings:
Commercial & Government. You will troubleshoot electrical problems and install new wiring or other components. We provide excellent benefits, a competitive salary and the chance to work with a brand with over 34 years of excellence. #ZR
- Licenses – Current driver’s license
- Must have or will obtain a DOT card
- Education – High school Graduate, GED, or equivalent training
- Journeyman’s License (not signed into a J-card)
- Must have completed and show proof of 4-5 apprenticeship program
- Electrical experience – 5 years minimum
- Experience running crews
- Must be willing to comply with scheduled emergency service
- Must be able to troubleshoot effectively
- Blueprint experience
- Bucket experience or be willing to be trained
- Experience operating equipment preferred but is not required
- Experience completing daily job tickets
- Required to do DVIR/JHA daily
- Positively identify colors of conductors
- Comprehends reading of blueprints and schematics
- Use of all power tools
- Capable of digging trenches and comfortably using hand tools or power equipment
- Practice and comprehend safe work procedures, as outlined in the company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-com Policy, and Lockout – Tagout Policy
- Operate two-handed tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers
- Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions
- Operate and work from personal lifts, gas or electric powered
- Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoes, lift trucks in a safe manner
- Able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, overtime and night shifts as required.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Lift 51 pounds
- Climb ladders of all types
- Complete overhead work for full day’s assignments
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
