As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Sentinel in Alexandria, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and help identify and report security‑related concerns. You will support access control, respond to incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while providing customer service.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct armed, high-visibility patrols of facilities, platforms, vehicles, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or suspicious conditions.
• Monitor access points and screen visitors, employees, and/or contractors in accordance with post orders, including verifying identification, controlling entry, and maintaining visitor and credential logs.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching appropriate notifications, coordinating with public agency personnel and/or law enforcement, and providing scene support until relieved.
• Complete timely, accurate reports and documentation of patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate status updates via radio, phone, and/or electronic systems as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have CPR and/or First Aid certification, preferred.
• Have a guard card and/or security license, preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
