Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health at Inova Health

Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Behavioral Health team. This role will be full-time day shift 7:00 am – 7:00 pm with a rotating weekend. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available for qualified external applicants.

With the demand for behavioral health services growing, IMVH extended its 30‑bed unit to 50 beds in mid‑2023. The new 20‑bed unit is designed with the specific needs of this specialized population in mind, and the existing unit was also upgraded and modernized. IMVH’s behavioral health team received the 2021 Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience from Press Ganey, recognizing organizations in the 95th percentile nationwide.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will communicate effectively with patients, families, team members and medical providers. To help achieve our mission, you will create a collaborative team working environment while displaying respect for and an understanding of various clinical disciplines. Using a focused and integrated approach toward improving desired patient outcomes and patient experience of care delivery is of vital importance.

Your participation in learning new knowledge, developing new skills and meeting program objectives to be able to practice in assigned patient care delivery settings while utilizing and applying new knowledge is essential. Demonstrating a willingness to learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various other training formats is required.

• A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Education:
  
  BSN or ADN – if ADN, complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required.
• RN licensed and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skill and a caring demeanor towards others; proficient computer skills required.

• Inpatient Psychiatric experience preferred.
