Who we are looking forConquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, has a great opportunity for a Gift Officer, Philanthropy, to help strengthen and expand our mid-level individual giving program. The Gift Officer will play a key part in building a sustainable donor pipeline by engaging supporters at the $5,000 - $24,999 level and identifying future major and planned gift opportunities. The Gift Officer, Philanthropy is an ideal role for a relationship-driven fundraiser who enjoys qualifying prospects, maintaining frequent donor engagement, and helping donors grow their philanthropic impact over time.

- Manages a portfolio of >200 major gift donors and prospective donors with giving of $5,000-$24,999 annually, matching philanthropic priorities with Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation funding priorities
- Through email, phone, virtual, and some in-person meetings, qualify mid-level major gift prospects to add to portfolio, or refer to other annual, major, or planned giving officers
- Sets and adheres to an aggressive communication strategy with prospects and existing donors to meet ever-increasing fundraising goals
- Under the direction of Division Director, Individual Giving, prepares, implements, and evaluates an annual plan, including measurable goals and specific initiatives
- Identifies, cultivates, solicits, negotiates, and stewards individual gifts utilizing moves management and cultivation plans
- Tracks donor and prospect information and communication in CRM
- Participates in prospect strategy meetings, discusses strategies involving natural partners, acknowledges donor philanthropic objectives, and prepares donor-centric proposals involving mid-level giving solutions
- Collaborates with colleagues in communications, annual giving, corporate relations, foundation relations and other departments to ensure the success of individual gifts, and prioritizes services for internal and external contacts in a timely manner
- Attends and follows up for select meetings with leaders of Philanthropy, and key volunteers; and performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
- Stays current on individual giving and industry trends and best practices to inform prospect and donor strategy
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience
- 5 years of direct experience fundraising for non-profit or in a health care setting
- Demonstrated success cultivating and maintaining multiple donor relationships, prospecting and pipeline building, and converting prospects to donors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
