Position Overview

The IT Help Desk Intern will provide Level I help desk support for desktop workstations, laptops, and peripherals for both local and remote users.

This role offers hands‑on exposure to Windows platforms, systems administration fundamentals, user account management, and endpoint support.

The intern will learn by assisting and shadowing the Systems Support Specialist, gaining experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software. The role also includes a special project to be presented to executive leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Provide Level I help desk support, including ticket intake, incident routing, and escalation when necessary

* Support local and remote users; travel to remote sites as needed

* Assist with incident routing and ticket assignment

* Install, configure, and provide desktop support for Windows OS, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365 (Office 365), and Adobe software

* Support end users through troubleshooting, training, and system guidance

* Assist with user account setup, access configurations, and permissions

* Provide basic telecommunications support

* Assist with hardware inventory management and equipment deployment

* Perform administrative duties, including correspondence and document management

General Intern Program Responsibilities

* Complete a capstone project focused on the assigned discipline and present findings to stakeholders during the final week of the program

* Perform additional administrative and project‑based duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex IT‑related instructions and documentation

* Ability to analyze, create, and interpret technical and general business documents

* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

* Customer‑focused mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate

Education & Experience

* Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Information Technology

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

* CompTIA A+

* Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
