Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is seeking to hire an Executive 1 for their Springfield office. This person will serve as the agency Vehicle Coordinator and the Assistant Travel Coordinator. The ideal candidate for this position will have great attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and experience managing a vehicle fleet and knowledge of government travel rules.

- Serves as Agency Vehicle Coordinator and manages the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) motor pool fleet.
- Serves as Assistant Travel Coordinator.
- Provides backup support for the Agency’s Chicago Management Operations team.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
- Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
- Requires two (2) years of experience managing a government motor pool fleet.
- Requires two (2) years of experience working with government travel rules and regulations.
- Prefers two (2) years of experience managing a government motor pool fleet.

- Prefers two (2) years of experience managing multiple databases, including cloud-based platforms, spreadsheets, and third-party database programs.
- Prefers one (1) year of experience in program management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of program outcomes.
- Prefers one (1) year of demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing agency-wide policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
