We are seeking an experienced Senior Federal Accountant to join our team in Alexandria, VA. This position demands a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in Oracle Federal Financials, USSGL, and Federal financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in deadline-driven environments and brings excellent analytical and communication skills to the table.
What You Will Do In This Role- Execute financial reconciliations aligned with USSGL standards including GTAS requirements
- Prepare accurate and compliant financial reports per OMB Circulars and the Treasury Financial Manual
- Perform data analysis to support financial decision-making and reporting
- Interact regularly with senior leadership, federal finance and budget personnel, auditors, and A-123 Appendix A Program Reviewers
- Draft and present comprehensive financial documentation and training materials
- Monitor and guide both federal and contract staff, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in federal accounting or financial management
- Proven track record working with the Federal General Ledger and producing process documentation
- At least 6 months of experience creating high-quality process and procedural documentation for training or financial workflows
- Experience conducting presentations and producing competent written products under pressure
- Proficiency in Oracle Federal Financials R12 or similar COTS financial systems
- Strong command of Excel, Access, and Word
- Skilled in leveraging software tools for text-based and data-driven reporting
- Security Clearance:
Must be able to pass a basic government suitability check (US Citizenship required).
