Accounting Manager

To manage the operations of the Accounting Department. Prepare financial reports. Ensure complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the credit union. Ensure department scanning is up to date and that all files imaged are in the correct imaging folders.

• Prepares or oversees preparation of all financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union.
• Finalizes the processing of payroll for the HR Administrator
• Hires, trains, directs, and evaluates employee performance within the department; recommends promotions/transfers and salary adjustments.
• Works with auditors/examiners on audits.
• Ensures department policies and procedures are current.
• Ensures quarterly and monthly reporting of Federal and State payroll taxes (Form 941 IRS, Federal and State Unemployment) in conjunction with the payroll processor and HR Administrator.
• Maintains and reconciles General Ledger for loans, shares, investments, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued income and expenses.
• Prepares monthly financial statements.
• Pays invoices for associated with employee benefits (i.e., GTL, Health Insurance)

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance
• Five to ten years of similar or related experience
• Must have a good working knowledge of Jack Henry Symitar
• Fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals)
• Functional with spreadsheets
