Responsibilities
  • Utilize experience and technical skills to solve complex problems, ensuring compliance with industry and client standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including architecture, all engineering disciplines, project managers, and contractors.
  • Lead project teams, delivering comprehensive engineering design packages to diverse clients such as federal, state, and local agencies; commercial and industrial entities; and universities.
  • Provide engineering oversight and direction to junior engineers and designers, including leadership and training.
  • Support construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality and accuracy of work and effectively communicating with project manager, design and construction teams, and clients.
  • Work with the electrical team across offices to enhance internal standards, conduct load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations for optimal system configurations.
Requirements
  • 6–10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, architectural/electrical engineering, or electrical engineering technology from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia or ability to obtain one through reciprocity within three months of start date.
  • Experience in building system design including power distribution, lighting and control systems, grounding and lightning protection, and emergency and uninterruptible power systems.
  • Familiarity with system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AGI) and knowledge of sustainable design practices.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and to obtain a security clearance.
Desirable
  • Prior consulting experience.
  • Federal government design experience.
  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • LC certification is a plus.
  • Functional knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is a plus.
