We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support critical power facilities in the Washington DC area. This role involves automatic transfer switch (ATS) startups, modifications, warranty service, and emergency calls.

Responsibilities- Carry a cell phone and be on call 24/7.
- Focus on work related to automatic transfer switches.
- Provide technical support of field startups, warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventive maintenance contracts.
- Supervise and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and laws.
- Conduct client communication in a highly customer‑service oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work, negotiating any extra charges associated with work performed.
- Travel up to 80%.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- 3+ years experience in field service engineering and electrical power, including low voltage through medium voltage switch gear in support of critical power facilities (data centers, airports, etc.).
- Experience with most types of automatic transfer switch testing.
- Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation, and customer technical support.
- Familiarity with all applicable codes and industry standards.
- Proficient in client interactions and completing projects on time and within budget guidelines.
- Strong project management skills with excellent decision making, organization, and management capabilities.
- Must be self‑directed and very committed to customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
- 5+ years of field service within the power distribution/protection industry.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Excellent customer service, time management and follow‑up skills.
- Power distribution, DC/AC, voltage circuit theory and practical troubleshooting skills.

- The pay range for this position is $68,401 – $117,259 plus travel and overtime. The actual wage may vary based on candidate experience and location.
