Join The Vertex Companies LLC as a Senior Forensic Engineer in Mechanical to investigate incidents in HVAC and other mechanical systems, conduct code research, review construction documents, analyze failures, prepare remediation scopes, write reports, and support business development.

• Conduct forensic field inspections into causes and origins of residential and commercial property damage and construction defect claims.
• Research mechanical system failures to determine causes, including HVAC expertise.
• Develop detailed remediation plans: scope, schedule, budget.
• Author expert investigative reports with findings and remediation plans for senior management review and client presentation.
• Ensure client satisfaction by meeting on‑time, on‑budget project goals.
• Execute assignments with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Support managers in meeting annual budget targets, creating work products to achieve utilization and profit targets.
• Coordinate with team members, review technical work, monitor progress, and maintain high quality output.
• Track utilization rate, client deadlines, timesheet data, and meet or exceed individual utilization goals.
• Conduct leadership behaviors, positivity, and OKR delivery.
• Travel as necessary to support clients, employees, and leadership.
• Perform quality control of all service delivery and self‑generated work product.
• Provide feedback to project leaders to facilitate rapid identification and escalation of challenges.

• Align tasks with the organization’s vision and business objectives.
• Prioritize tasks toward defined profit objectives of assigned projects.
• Build strong cross‑functional teams and collaborate with staff to achieve shared goals.
• Complete daily tasks per contract requirements and proactively alert leadership to challenges.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or advanced degree.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with multiple states preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience.
• Appropriately credentialed and recognized in technical expertise.
• Proven track record of independent work product production, communication, and client coordination.
• Demonstrated knowledge of technical areas.

• Reliable work product review.
• Effective written and verbal communication with coworkers, supervisors, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑awareness, flexibility, and ability to work with diverse personalities and work styles.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities under high stress.
• Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Word, Excel, Adobe).

Annualized base salary range: $130,000 – $190,000. Total compensation includes base salary plus performance‑based discretionary bonus.
