Aboutthe Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of multiple custom homes from demo through Certificate of Occupancy.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys the challenge of custom homebuilding on tight urban lots, where construction details, sequencing, etc. must be carefully managed.
The Superintendent is the primary operator on the jobsite, responsible for schedules, quality, safety, subcontractor coordination, and maintaining a professional jobsite environment.

- Drive Process Improvement:
Actively identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to strengthen construction standards and operational workflows. - Full-Cycle Project Management:
Supervise the construction of multiple custom homes from initial demolition through final inspection and Certificate of Occupancy. - Subcontractor Coordination:
Manage all subcontractors and vendors to ensure strict adherence to project schedules and quality benchmarks. - Logistics Management:
Strategically stage and manage material deliveries, specifically within constrained urban environments. - Community Relations:
Maintain positive relationships with neighboring property owners and proactively minimize jobsite disruptions. - Quality Control:
Ensure all construction aligns precisely with architectural plans, technical specifications, and client selections. - Site Stewardship:
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite environment at all times. - Inspection Oversight:
Coordinate and successfully obtain all required municipal and structural inspections. - Safety & Compliance:
Enforce site safety protocols, maintain OSHA compliance, and perform regular stormwater (SWPPP) inspections. - Digital Documentation:
Maintain real-time project schedules and field updates within the construction management platform to ensure team-wide transparency. - Internal Communication:
Provide consistent updates on vendor performance and field conditions to Project Managers and internal stakeholders.
- Industry
Experience:
5+ years of experience in infill residential construction, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with the Northern Virginia market. - Technical Proficiency:
Advanced ability to read and interpret complex architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawings. - Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of local building codes, permitting processes, and regional stormwater management (SWPPP) practices. - Multi-Project Management:
Proven ability to manage the schedules and workflows of multiple active projects simultaneously. - Communication & Leadership:
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage conflict and provide clear direction in the field. - Tech Familiarity:
Proficiency in construction management software such as Buildertrend, Procore, or similar platforms. - Logistics:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for daily site visits across the service area. - Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 (commensurate with experience)
