Job Description

The Strategic Business Development Executive is responsible for driving demand, interest, and new partnerships for SHRM’s portfolio of products and services. They will be a passionate, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Complete high volume prospecting activities to fuel the sales pipeline and manage the full sales cycle for organizations with fewer than 1,000 employees. Execute on sales targets and deliverable results.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to inbound marketing leads, qualifying and nurturing them into opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to share best practices, generate new business opportunities, and close more sales.
  • Conduct high‑level conversations with senior HR executives in target accounts, qualify meetings for Directors of Corporate Partnerships.
  • Identify and build key relationships with C‑level HR executives and department heads to create synergies between corporations and SHRM business offerings.
  • Research target clients, stay informed on industry trends, and provide HR insight to create new opportunities and relationships.
Requirements
  • Experience working in complex, mid‑market, and/or enterprise spaces. Proven track record of generating leads and opportunities.
  • Initiative:
    Entrepreneurial mindset, comfort working in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments, high motivation, self‑starting individual.
  • Skills:

    Excellent communication and presentation skills, active listening, solution recommendation to address customer needs.
  • Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with extended relevant experience. 3+ years of professional experience in business‑to‑business sales development.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations. Work is generally performed sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use computer and other equipment.
