Accounting Manager

Our client is a venture-backed technology company operating in a complex, hardware-enabled environment with global operations. The business is scaling rapidly and building the financial infrastructure to support multiple warehouse locations and increasing production volume.

This is a high-impact role focused on designing inventory and cost accounting processes from the ground up.

Newly created Accounting Manager position with heavy emphasis on inventory and cost accounting.

The current environment is largely manual with limited system integration. This hire will bring structure, visibility, and discipline to inventory tracking, costing, and reporting.

There are no direct reports initially, but the role is expected to expand as operations scale.

Travel to Europe approximately 15 percent depending on warehouse implementation stage.

• Lead inventory and COGS close activities
• Establish structured inventory valuation and costing methodologies
• Align inventory subledger with the general ledger
• Design and document scalable inventory accounting processes
• Partner daily with supply chain, procurement, and warehouse operations
• Support system upgrades and warehouse management integration
• Improve visibility into inventory balances, movements, and margins
• Prepare for audit readiness related to inventory and cost accounting

This is a build role. They need someone who understands how warehouses actually function and can translate that into clean financial reporting.

• CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Deep cost accounting and inventory expertise
• Strong understanding of COGS, inventory valuation methods, and operational flow
• Experience implementing or improving inventory or warehouse systems
• Ability to move a manual environment into a structured, scalable process
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and rapid growth
• Strong cross‑functional communicator

This is not a maintenance role. They want someone proactive who can identify gaps, design solutions, and own the process end‑to‑end.
