Overview
St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse – Hematology/Oncology to provide high‑quality care to Veterans at community‑based outpatient clinics in Brainerd, Alexandria, and Montevideo, MN. The position is full time, located in Alexandria, MN, requiring at least 75% travel between the clinic locations.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other VA and non‑VA health care providers to assess, coordinate, and advocate for Veterans’ clinical needs.
- Conduct advanced clinical assessments, provide evidence‑based treatment, and manage a patient panel of hematology/oncology patients.
- Utilize clinical expertise to evaluate current practice, formulate outcomes for complex patient care, and support staff from a leadership perspective.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives related to hematology/oncology care.
- Valid, full and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in MN or any US state or territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a master’s or doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
- Current basic board certification in one of the following specialty areas:
Adult‑Gerontology Primary Care NP, Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care NP, or Oncology NP from ANCC, AANPCB, or an equivalent body. - At least 3 years of progressive experience in hematology/oncology or related specialty, demonstrating the ability to manage a patient panel and coordinate complex care.
- Strong leadership skills, effective communication, and proficiency in the use of electronic health record systems.
