Mechanical Engineer

• Design Innovative, Reliable Machine Solutions
  • Develop machine concepts including layouts, motion timing, drive systems, and mechanical assemblies that meet project and customer requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of materials, purchased components, and manufacturing methods to deliver cost-effective, value-driven designs.
  • Use CAD tools to design new components and optimize existing designs for functionality, simplicity, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all designs align with Aagard standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide Engineering Support for Internal and External Customers
  • Support equipment testing, debug, and installation to ensure machines meet customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and motion-related issues, providing practical, effective engineering solutions.
  • Deliver engineering support for field retrofits, upgrades, and replacement part solutions to extend machine performance and value.
  • Provide training and technical guidance on machine operation, maintenance, and functionality.
• Lead Projects
  • Lead assigned mechanical engineering projects ensuring on-time execution and quality outcomes.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and collaborative problem-solving sessions to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Communicate openly and professionally with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Represent Aagard with professionalism during on-site visits, machine run-offs, and customer interactions.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including servo-based automation
• Proficient in CAD with the ability to develop and optimize designs for value and manufacturability
• Understanding of materials, fabrication methods, tolerances, and cost drivers in automated equipment
• Skilled in mechanical math, motion timing, visualizing complex concepts, and root cause analysis tools
• Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
• Experience with Microsoft products including proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong prioritization, time management, organization, proactive decision-making, and attention to detail
• Confidence and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
• Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time, which may include any day of the week
• Must obtain and maintain a valid passport. (cost reimbursed by Aagard)
• Must comply with applicable travel requirements, including receiving any vaccinations necessary for entry into certain countries (cost reimbursed by Aagard)
