Position Details- Full-Time
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Location: YMCA Child Care at Vivie – Alexandria, MN
- Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
Our center is a warm, family-focused program with 12 dedicated staff members and four classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years (2 infant, 1 toddler, 1 preschool).

Your Role as Lead Preschool TeacherAs our Lead Preschool Teacher, you will work closely with the Child Care Director to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
You will:- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth
- Create and manage a structured daily schedule including learning activities, play, meals, and rest
- Provide active supervision and ensure a safe, nurturing environment
- Communicate consistently and positively with families, including daily updates
- Lead and support assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Maintain licensing compliance and YMCA standards
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, creative, collaborative, and deeply committed to early childhood development.
Requirements- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working with young children (assistant teacher, student teacher, or similar roles preferred)
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum
- CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements
