Full Time-Day Shift: 5:30AM – 6:00PM;

Part Time Day & Night Shift: Flexible

Salary - Depends on Qualifications

This position has a Special Entrance Rate:

• Practical Nurse – Licensed 1 $19.48/hr – $25.44/hr
• Practical Nurse – Licensed 2 $20.84/hr – $27.22/hr
• Practical Nurse – Licensed 3 $22.30/hr – $29.13/hr

This position receives premium pay of $10.00 per hour.

This position also receives Shift Differential, Longevity Pay, and Additional pay options.

Notes: This position may be filled by Detail to Special Duty, Probation, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.

THIS JOB IS IN A CAREER PROGRESSION GROUP AND MAY BE FILLED AT A HIGHER LEVEL.

As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Practical Nurse – Licensed 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the Practical Nurse – Licensed 2 is $53,414. Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

To provide basic nursing care to patients/clients in stable conditions and in predictable situations in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act.

Entry.

Supervision Received:
Close from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.

May exercise functional supervision over paraprofessional nursing personnel.

Statewide--health care facilities; correctional facilities.

Differs from Practical Nurse – Licensed, 2 by the absence of journeyman level assignments and independent performance of duties. Implements selective aspects of the nursing care plan, i.e., comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, etc. under progressively more generalized supervision from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.

• Observes patients for changes in physical and/or mental status or behavior and reports significant changes.
• Obtains specimens for laboratory testing as assigned.
• Takes vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
