Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist must handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The role may require working other shifts and/or at other campuses. The technologist should troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system.
Ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within scope of licensure are expected. Behavior and communication should align with the organization s mission, values, and culture.

- Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the Manager s license(s), certification(s), and/or documented competencies.
- Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.
- Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS; follows PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalates issues to the PACS administrator or designee when needed.
- Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; performs appropriate follow-up.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills (converted)
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
Experience
- 1 year of ultrasound scanning experience preferred
- Basic computer experience required
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Sonography (S) in Abdomen by ARRT or ARDMS required within 1 year of hire
- Certification in OB/GYN, Vascular, or Breast preferred
- State Licensure required if in New Mexico - DMS by MIRTP NMED
- BLS required
