Overview
Position Summary... What you'll do... Leverages leadership to develop teams by teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Drives store performance through communication of business objectives, change initiatives, and clear expectations for implementing business solutions. Models exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) service model and supports customer service initiatives including community engagement and issue resolution.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop teams; communicate store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; introduce and lead change efforts; provide clear expectations and guidance for implementing business solutions.
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards; manage and support customer service initiatives, resolve customer needs and issues, and drive action plans to improve processes and customer experience.
- Drive financial performance for the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; ensure alignment with sales; oversee merchandise presentation and seasonal transitions; monitor inventory flow and shrink, and develop plans to meet sales and profit goals.
- Supervise and develop hourly associates; hire, train, mentor, assign duties, set expectations; recognize associates; promote belonging and recruit to meet staffing needs.
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, communicating goals, and measuring progress; identify improvement opportunities and promote continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethics; support Open Door Policy and apply these practices to business processes.
- Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging; build high-performing teams; attract and retain talent; empower and develop others; model integrity and accountability.
- Act with integrity, serve customers and members, make data-driven decisions, balance short- and long-term priorities, and consider impact on associates, customers, shareholders, suppliers, and communities.
- Strive for excellence by embracing learning, taking calculated risks, and driving continuous improvement; support adoption of new technologies and skills.
- Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, or Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5+ direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
