Role:
Site Maintenance Engineer

Hours:

6:00am - 14:30pm, days only 5 days per week on a flexible shift pattern, working 4 days of your choice from Monday to Friday, 1 day at the weekend (Saturday or Sunday).

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 + additional benefits; use of onsite gym and canteen.

Commute: from Camberley, Aldershot, Farnborough, Farnham and surrounding areas.

Role Overview

This is a hands‑on, all‑round site engineer role within a food production environment, responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient operation of site machinery, equipment and services. The Site Maintenance Engineer will support day‑to‑day maintenance, operations, delivering and offering continuous improvement projects, ensuring engineering activities meet food safety, quality and UK legislative requirements at all times.

Qualifications
  • City and Guilds Level 2 or 3 in mechanical, electrical engineering or apprentice trained.
  • Electrical qualifications – advantage, not essential.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site services.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Support installation, modification and improvement of machinery and production lines.
  • Assist with engineering and site improvement projects.
  • Liaise with and manage on‑site contractors when required.
  • Maintain hygienic engineering standards within production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies and UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.
  • Support audits and contribute to root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Site Maintenance Engineer role within manufacturing or food production.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault‑finding ability.
  • Good problem‑solving skills.
  • Understanding of UK health & safety regulations.
  • IT literate.
  • Experience with automation, PLCs or continuous improvement processes is beneficial.
